The owner of Special Organic Soils, Laurie Scott, has a great love of the earth and this love led to him doing studies into it which resulted in him gaining a Certificate of Attainment in Quality in Composting.
Laurie Scott knows his soil and he knows how to care for it. One of the ways he cared for his own garden was to create a compost that had everything his plants needed and, more importantly, everything the soil itself needed.
The quality results Laurie got in his own garden using his home made compost led to people asking him to supply them with the product and Kwality Organic Compost was born.
Kwality Organic Compost is exactly what the name says. Only organic based material is used as feedstock. No chemicals or industrial waste is used to make the compost so no toxins are added at any stage.
 The main ingredients of the feedstock are lawn clippings, pine needles, gum leaves, gum bark and wood shavings from untreated wood.
Laurie prefers to use Gypsum, not lime, for cation exchange activity as this reduces the chances of the compost becoming too alkaline. He uses horse manure to keep the phosphorus level down and this makes it possible to grow Australian Native Trees in the compost.
Kwality Organic Compost is turned every few days to make sure all the feedstock in the compost goes through the heat stage as this kills harmful fungi and bacteria.
Every batch is cured for 3 months to mature and stabilise it. This minimises the potential for the development of phytoxicity in the compost as this is poisonous to plants. After curing the compost is screened then bagged for sale.
Kwality Organic Compost has a p.H. level of 6.5 which suits most plants perfectly from azaleas to sweet soil loving plants. It is great for growing roses and bulbs but, as mentioned earlier, can also be used to grow Australian Native Trees.
The procedure used to make this compost is labor intensive but the result is a high quality, natural product that is not only good TO the environment but good FOR it!
Kwality Organic Compost is excellent for restoring the soil in tired and nutrient deficient gardens. Give your garden a treat and top it up with the best, most natural compost you will ever find. Use the compost in conjunction with potting soils in tubs and pots of any size for excellent results.

Kwality Organic Compost is available in wholesale 40 litre bags for easy dispersal onto any garden but you can also just take a handful each time you need it for your pot plants.
